About The Soft Skills Society
The Soft Skills Society is an educational and community platform built around a simple belief: real connection doesn't require me to stop being me. We have spent years teaching people what they need to know. We spend considerably less time teaching them what to do when they're frustrated, scared, wrong, overwhelmed, left out, disappointed, angry, uncertain—or simply trying to get along with another human being.
Those skills don't magically appear when we grow up. So we're creating a place to practice them.
The Soft Skills Society brings human skills into everyday life—from a three-year-old practicing HEART Power to an adult learning how to set a boundary without setting the entire relationship on fire.
Different age. Different vocabulary.
Same humans. Same need for practice.

About Ella Donlan.
My name is Ella Donlan and my path to creating the Soft Skills Society hasn't been a straight one. I am a U.S. Navy Desert Storm Veteran, trained court reporter, longtime office administrator and bookkeeper, Certified Hypnotherapist, and eventual Accounting Manager. I hold a master's degree in Psychology and Hypnotherapy and have a Certificate of Specialization in Finance and Accounting from Harvard Business School Online. I adore my husband, six grandchildren, two daughters and (step)son. I learn more from them than any college. Watching my children grow and now watching another generation grow has challenged my thinking in ways no classroom ever could. Their questions, perspectives, values, and sometimes very different moral compass have caused me to examine my own beliefs, change my mind, and recognize that wisdom doesn't automatically travel from older generations to younger ones.
Sometimes it travels the other direction. That intergenerational exchange is at the heart of the Soft Skills Society: we all have something to teach, and and we all still have something to learn. Age doesn't automatically make someone the teacher. In short, wisdom isn't generational.
